On April 12, 2025, PASSIO Lab partnered with two faculty members from the Industrial and Systems Engineering (ISE) Department—Dr. Joao P. J. Prioli and Dr. Jose C. H. Azucena—to bring an exciting robotics demonstration to the 4-H Game of Drones event at North Carolina A&T State University’s Moore Gymnasium. This competition, which welcomed middle and high school students from across the state, also hosted a vibrant STEM Playground for K–12 visitors as part of the NC Science Festival.
During our demonstration, children had the opportunity to program and operate a Ufactory xArm 5 robot arm as it picked up Hot Wheels cars and placed them onto a Mario Kart Bowser’s Castle track set. The engaging, hands-on nature of this activity gave students a glimpse into real-world robotic processes—reinforcing concepts in programming, engineering, and problem-solving.
